Climate Change and the Energy Transition: Turning Adversity Into a Future.

The demand for skilled workers for the energy transition remains enormous. The Federal Republic of Germany is therefore at risk of missing its target of greenhouse gas neutrality by 2045. But how do you attract young people to professions that the transformation urgently needs?

The JOBLINGE initiative has developed the "Climate Worlds" program by training young people from educationally disadvantaged backgrounds on the topic and explicitly showing them the consequences of climate change for the training and employment market. With the approach: knowledge changes the world.

This article will introduce you to the JOBLINGE program and discuss the need for action together with Dr. Désirée Schulte from h2-netzwerk-ruhr and other guests.

In addition, the aim is to discuss not about but with young people how we can better win them over to the issues of the green transformation and what incentives are needed for them to take up "sustainable" professions.

Since 2008, the JOBLINGE initiative has been activating young people for apprenticeships, placing them in training and supporting them until they successfully complete their training. To this end, we combine the commitment of business, the state and private individuals. In this way, we create personal prospects and help to close the skills gap.
