Geopolitical tensions, volatile commodity markets, and the immense pressure of the energy transition: Europe is in the midst of a radical realignment of its energy security. The comprehensive electrification of the economy and industry is not a new concept - but its momentum has fundamentally changed. Whereas climate protection and sustainability were once the primary drivers, strategic resilience and geopolitical sovereignty now also serve as key drivers behind the plans of the European Commission, national governments, and industry.
This desired transition toward the complete electrification of all sectors - combined with the rapidly rising energy demands of modern digital technologies - is propelling Europe into an era of massive electricity demand. This poses fundamental questions for the entire energy system: How much grid expansion is even feasible at this point? To what extent can smart metering, dynamic rates, and AI-powered systems protect critical infrastructure from overload in real time? And above all: How do we bring these smart solutions to market quickly and on a large scale?
While the B2C market is already undergoing a fundamental transformation due to the rise of heat pumps and e-mobility, the energy industry faces the challenge of managing the tension between traditional distribution grid expansion and decentralized “behind-the-meter” solutions directly at the consumer level.
Under the central theme “Moving Europe to “All Electric”: System Shock or Smart Transition?”, the first day of the E-world Kick-off will focus precisely on these challenges. Look forward to an exclusive fireside chat that will set the strategic framework. In the subsequent high-profile panel discussion, leading figures from the European energy industry will come together to explore the feasibility of - and chart the decisive course for - a potential all-electric future for Europe.
