Day 2 | Natural Gas in the European Energy Transition: Bridge, Blockade, or Both?
What shape will the future European gas market take? While in recent years the focus has been on the question of security of supply, the focus is now on the question of how much natural gas will be prospectively consumed and for how long. The EU Commission's Clean Industrial Deal gives natural gas a key role by proposing joint gas procurement for greater security of supply. However, the resulting potential increase in demand is an obstacle to a climate-neutral future.
On the second E-world Kick-off day, a panel of international representatives from the energy industry will focus on the future European demand for (natural) gas. It will be influenced by the following aspects, among others:
