The digital conference "E-world Kick-off" from November 19 to 21, 2024 marked the starting point for preparations for the on-site trade fair in February. This year's Kick-off focussed on change and the pursuit of stability in the European and German energy sector. The audience experienced intensive discussions about grid stability, European security of supply and financing the municipal heating transition - topics that pose a number of challenges for the energy transition that need to be solved. The first day of the E-world Kick-off focussed on the question of whether the grid can bear the energy transition. In addition to the topics of grid stability and grid expansion, there were discussions on how an investment and cost-friendly environment can be created for the expansion of the grids required for the energy transition.
The measures that can continue to guarantee security of supply in the electricity and gas supply were discussed on the second day. Topics included measures for more resilient supply chains and the development of domestic supply capacities against the backdrop of the planned energy transition. The example of hydrogen was also used to discuss how a combination of renewables can be used to establish security of supply.

The finale of the Kick-off focussed on financing the municipal heating transition. In addition to various sustainable financial resources, the aspect of cooperation was discussed in particular. How the financing requirements of key players such as banks, municipal associations, municipal utilities and the property industry can be tackled together was also discussed.
