Wind Power Heroes Wanted (M/F/D)

Roaring winds, lashing waves and a cool sea breeze. This is where the force of nature meets high-end technology. Gigantic wind turbines rise out of the sea in the middle of the scenery and use the constant and strong winds to produce large amounts of green electricity.

What careers are there in offshore wind energy? What makes this field of work so exciting? And what entry opportunities do school pupils, trainees and students have today?

In this panel, the OFFSHORE-WINDENERGIE Foundation, together with other experts, will give you an insight into the professional world of offshore wind energy - on land and at sea - and show you various entry options.

After the panel, the speakers will be available for personal discussions.

Background:

With the WIN(D)SCHOOL project, the OFFSHORE-WINDENERGIE Foundation has set itself the goal of informing students in grades 5-10 about offshore wind energy and career opportunities in the industry with the help of school workshops and career counseling in order to arouse the interest of students at an early stage and support them in entering the industry. So come to our panel and get involved!

Program partner

The OFFSHORE-WINDENERGIE Foundation was established in 2005 to promote environmental and climate protection through improved research and development of offshore wind energy. It is a non-partisan and supra-regional think tank for the development of offshore wind energy in Germany and Europe.

The foundation is also a communication platform, serves to exchange knowledge and sees itself as a source of ideas and a multiplier. As a non-profit organization at the interface between different sectors, it analyses and prepares information from a holistic and overall economic perspective. Based on this, it supports players from politics, business and science in an advisory capacity.

Important federal and state ministries for the offshore wind sector as well as operators, manufacturers, transmission system operators, suppliers, certifiers, banks and insurance companies are represented on the foundation's board of trustees.

The foundation also fulfills an educational mandate towards civil society. With educational projects such as WIN(D)SCHOOL and Win4Kids, the foundation is committed to getting young people interested in the industry and paving the way for them to enter it.
